Overview
1. Please describe your operating units, subsidiaries & affiliated companies. Please explain how these align to the major lines of business as indicated above.
Our Chennai operating unit is located in the heart of the city for easy access to everyone, and can seat up to 200 skills in 2 shifts. This unit is equipped with all amenities such as dedicated generator, multiple internet connectivity, high-end servers, IBM PCs, ergonomically designed workspace, etc. that meet international standards.
2. What is the typical Educational Qualification of your team? Almost all the staffs of Olympus have a degree ranging from Diploma to PhD.

SYSTEM ADMIN
1. Do you have facilities for teleconference?
YES. Our EPBX is a Matrix-Partner system and has many advanced features.
2. Do you have facilities for videoconference?
Yes, we frequently use WebEx, Go-To-Meeting and Skype to speak with our customers. We understand that many complex projects require close interaction with your team and we use these tools for on-line interaction and collaboration.
3. Internet connection reliability! Please describe hot-standby and backup in case of failure of one connectivity medium.
Since we have multiple methods of connectivity, there are at least TWO lines live on 24 hrs basis.
4. Utility mains reliability or back-up power capability.
In case of power failure, our master UPS takes over automatically. Additional backup support is provided through 62 KVA Diesel generators.
5. What sort of firewall and Intrusion detection system do you use?
MS-ISA Server is installed in our server and acts as the firewall and intrusion detection system.
6. What sort of Virus detection system do you use? Please state in context of PC, Server, Email, FTP and LAN virus protection.
All Servers and PCs have Norton Anti virus software. Through MS-Exchange Server all mails are scanned for virus. We subscribe to regular updates and patches.
7. Please explain your data storage, backup and recovery procedure. Do you maintain off-site backups? Which backups are stored off-site? What is the backup and off-site storage schedule? Where are the off-site backups stored? Do you store physical backups outside India?
Data is stored in the IBM Raid Servers. Backup is done through 20/40 GB tape cartridge and CD-media. Our rotation scheme is “Grandfather– Father–Son” method where daily back up is done from Monday to Friday, Weekly backup on Saturday, and Monthly backup on 4th Saturday. All the backups are stored outside the premises. We do not store physical backup outside India at this time.
8. Do you have a system for monitoring and administering systems and log on?
Yes. Our LAN is set up on WIN-NT, and client authentication is through unique user name and password for log-on. Access rights are assigned for each of these users depending on their need to access particular portions of information
9. Do you have physical security for the premises? Do you employ video surveillance? Is there a physical entry and exit check for all belongings and persons
Round the clock security is provided for the building through a paid security bureau. We have a video surveillance system which covers the entrance and the production areas. Entry and exit checks are mandatory and passes given for visitors.
10. Do you provide remote log-in to your networks? If yes, please provide details on how it is monitored and made secure.
Yes. Our online web tracking workflow software enables the customer to access our applications to get an update on job status. The IDC which is hosting this is based in USA and well secured.
11. Describe your capabilities for electronic links to receive customer communication and your call handling capabilities
We have 5 telephone lines with hunting facility. Internet connectivity is available through DSL and ISDN. We have chat and Net Meeting facilities. Email ids are provided to key personnel in our organization.

All the product of Adobe suite.

The Pre-flight software used is Enfocus Pitshop Professional Ver. 5.0.
5. Do you offer book design services? If yes, do you offer a choice of standard designs? Do you offer original designs?
Yes. We can offer book design services based on standard designs. We can also offer original designs.
6. Do you typeset complex mathematical equations?
Yes (using MathType, Power Math, TeX, and LaTeX2e)
7. Do you have access to image setting/RIP facilities?
8. Do you maintain a font library? If yes, approximately how many font families does it currently contain?
Yes, our font library contains Adobe and Creative Alliance font families.
9. Can you scan author- or publisher-provided line arts, halftones?

Yes. We accept the following art file formats: PSD, TIFF, EPS, BMP, PNG, JPEG, GIFF, etc.
EDITING
1. Do you have copyeditors in-house?
Yes, we have experienced copyeditors who can copy-edit any type of STM content.
Chennai has a reputed academic environment. Being a Chennai-based company, we have access to a good set of talent. For each project, if required, we can prepare a sample edit of a portion of the manuscript for author review.
2. Do you work with style manuals developed by individual publishers?
Yes. We prefer to work as per customer requirements.

Yes. All the typeset pages are proofread in-house. Prior to proofreading the content is verified through our proprietary software’s Key & verify and Double Compare, thus enabling a higher level of text accuracy. Content, Layout and style specifications are checked by Technical Editors thoroughly.
VENDOR
1. Do you subcontract your work to third-party vendors?
Yes, we have highly qualified free-lance copy editors for STM Books & Journals. These editors are working for us for many years and we get formal approval from you before engaging them in your projects.
